Israeli forces struck near Deir al-Zahrani on Saturday and eliminated the terrorist Abu Hassan Alaa, of Hezbollah’s Badr Unit. The strike came in response to a Hezbollah attack on Israeli forces operating in the security zone, the military said.
Alaa was involved in orchestrating numerous terror operations against Israeli forces, including launching explosive drones at IDF troops in southern Lebanon. In recent years, he commanded several Hezbollah combat sectors targeting Israeli soldiers and civilians.
The IDF said Alaa’s elimination damages the operational capabilities of the Badr Unit. The strike follows the killing of Ali Samir al-Haj Hassan, who served as a battalion commander in Hezbollah’s Radwan Force and was killed at a command center in Ansar.
The military said it will continue operating to remove threats and will not allow Hezbollah to harm Israeli civilians or its forces.
