Fighting between Russia and Ukraine intensified overnight Tuesday, as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Moscow of using North Korean missiles. Zelenskyy claimed the strikes on Zaporizhzhia, which killed at least six people and wounded 19 others, were carried out with ballistic missiles supplied by Russia’s ally.

In a video address last night, Zelenskyy said that “for the first time” Russia “cannot wage war without reinforcements from North Korea.” He added that the more North Korean strikes on Ukraine, the more they “will correct their flaws and blind spots,” posing a danger to the rest of the world. Zelenskyy also praised a successful air strike on a petrochemical plant in Siberia.

One person was wounded in strikes on Kyiv, where air raid sirens sounded twice overnight. A strike in Kyiv hit a hospital, but officials said staff and patients were in shelters. Two women were wounded in a Russian drone attack on Sumy. The strikes on Wildberries warehouses follow similar attacks last July, when Kyiv claimed it was targeting logistics centers used by Russians to purchase military equipment. This week’s attack in Tatarstan was one of the deadliest on Russia since the war began, wounding at least 75 people. The Uzbek consulate in Tatarstan confirmed that seven of those killed were Uzbek citizens.
