A single photograph from an Amsterdam supermarket has ignited outrage across the Netherlands after a man was spotted casually wearing a soccer-style shirt emblazoned with “October 7”—an apparent reference to the brutal Hamas massacre in Israel.
Published by the Dutch organization CIDI, the image shows the man walking through a local supermarket wearing the shirt with “October 7” printed across the back in the style normally reserved for a player’s name and number. The photograph quickly spread across social media, drawing widespread condemnation.

Dutch Party for Freedom leader Geert Wilders responded forcefully on X. “In a supermarket in Amsterdam, Muslims don’t even hide their support for the October 7 massacre,” Wilders wrote. “These people should be arrested immediately and deported from the Netherlands together with their entire family!”
Wilders subsequently submitted parliamentary questions to Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten, demanding action over the incident and calling for the man to be removed from the country. Wilders demanded that the government publicly address the incident, determine whether security authorities had identified the man and examine whether wearing the shirt constitutes a criminal offense under Dutch law.

Among other questions, Wilders asked the prime minister whether he agreed that “openly supporting the largest murder of Jews since the Holocaust, or glorifying the Islamic terrorist groups involved, is disgusting, outrageous and unacceptable in the Netherlands.”
He added: “Do you agree that there is no place in the Netherlands for a criminal who shamelessly tramples Dutch values, celebrates Islamic terror and unambiguously turns against society—and that upon conviction he should be immediately deported from the country?”
Prime Minister Jetten is required to respond in writing to the parliamentary questions within the 48-hour timeframe set by Wilders. The responses will then be officially published and become part of the parliamentary record.

CIDI, a Dutch organization active on issues concerning Israel and antisemitism, presented the photograph as evidence that Hamas supporters in the Netherlands “no longer bother to hide their pride over the October 7 massacre.”
Reaction across social media was swift. While some pro-‘Palestinian’ users defended the shirt, others fiercely condemned it. “It’s amazing how deep the moral distortion has become. They’re barbaric, plain and simple,” one response read.
The disturbing image comes from the same European city where, less than two years ago, Israeli soccer fans were hunted and attacked in the streets following a match—adding an especially grim undertone to the sight of October 7 now being worn as though it were a team jersey.
