Thousands of terror infrastructure sites used by Hezbollah were located in recent months during IDF operations in Southern Lebanon, the military announced today (Thursday). According to the statement, over the years the organization established its military activity inside civilian villages in the area.
As part of operations by forces under Northern Command, troops uncovered headquarters, staging and launch positions, observation posts, underground infrastructure, and numerous weapons used by Hezbollah operatives. The IDF noted that the infrastructure was deployed across various hubs throughout Southern Lebanon and served diverse operational needs.
The IDF stated that Hezbollah embedded these facilities in the heart of the civilian population, turning villages across Southern Lebanon into a primary operational zone.
According to the military, operating within civilian areas allowed the organization to disguise its activities and launch operations from populated centers.
It was further reported that placing infrastructure inside villages exploited local residents and put them at risk. IDF forces continue operating in the sector to locate additional infrastructure, strike Hezbollah’s capabilities, and eliminate threats to the State of Israel.
