Three suspects in their 20s from southern Israel were arrested in Ashkelon after police detectives stopped their vehicle. The operation was part of a proactive crackdown on crime in the city, and the suspects were taken in for questioning at the police station.
During a search, detectives found an airsoft pistol, matching ammunition, face masks, and gloves in a bag carried by one of the suspects. A search of the vehicle turned up a machete, a fighting knife, a hammer, a taser, and several mobile phones.
The vehicle was seized for further investigation. Deputy Commander of Ashkelon Police Station, Superintendent Doron Sasson, said: “Officers and detectives at Ashkelon station are working proactively and resolutely against criminals and criminal elements, relying on quality intelligence and focused operational activity. We will continue to work to prevent violent crimes and remove weapons from public spaces, for the safety of the public.”
