After a long period without direct flights to Morocco, the destination is gradually returning to Israel’s aviation map. Following Arkia’s recent announcement that it would resume the route, Israir is joining in and bringing back direct flights to Marrakech. Flights will resume in early September, ahead of the holiday season, expanding flight options to a destination that has become one of the most sought-after among Israeli travelers in recent years.
According to the company’s announcement, the Marrakech route will reopen on September 1, 2026 and operate through the end of October. At this stage, the route will run once weekly, with departures from Israel every Tuesday afternoon and return flights from Marrakech taking off the same night.
The route’s resumption joins the renewed expansion of Israeli airline activity, as carriers continue adding destinations and increasing flight capacity ahead of the holiday season, alongside the return of foreign airlines to Israel and the recovery of the aviation market.
Marrakech is considered one of the most popular destinations in North Africa, drawing travelers with its colorful markets, historic sites, unique architecture, and local cuisine. The resumption of direct flights is expected to make it easier for Israelis looking to reach the destination without connecting flights.
