Disappointing news for travelers planning to fly to London: British Airways announced it is extending the cancellation of all flights to and from Israel.
The airline won’t return to Israel until October 25, 2026. The decision means the carrier won’t resume the Tel Aviv route during the summer months or holiday season, leaving passengers searching for direct flights to London with fewer options.
According to the airline’s announcement, operations are expected to resume on October 26, but in a significantly reduced format. Initially, British Airways will operate just one daily flight between Tel Aviv and London, instead of the extensive flight schedule it ran previously. The reduced schedule is expected to continue throughout the winter season until March 28, 2027, unless the airline decides later to increase capacity.
Passengers whose flights were canceled can choose between rerouting through connecting destinations including Athens or Larnaca, or receiving a full refund for the canceled ticket. British Airways’ announcement joins a string of foreign airlines that still haven’t resumed full operations in Israel, despite the gradual recovery in passenger traffic at Ben Gurion Airport.
