An expense report from the Prime Minister’s Office reveals a significant gap between official residence costs during the tenures of Prime Ministers Naftali Bennett and Benjamin Netanyahu. According to the data in the report, total expenses during Bennett’s term reached ₪1,370,361.66, while expenses during Netanyahu’s term totaled ₪465,319.
The table, with totals highlighted in yellow, breaks down expenses by category including food purchases, electricity, water, maintenance, gardening, insurance, communications, and other items. The summary line shows total expenses excluding personnel costs. The data shows Bennett’s expenses were roughly ₪905,000 higher than Netanyahu’s—nearly three times as much. Prime Minister Netanyahu’s Office stated in response: “The published data shows that the total residence expenses during Prime Minister Netanyahu’s tenure were significantly lower compared to the tenures of previous prime ministers. For example, during former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett’s year in office, ongoing expenses totaled 1,370,362 NIS (excluding manpower and security costs), whereas during the corresponding period under Prime Minister Netanyahu, expenses totaled only 465,319 NIS (excluding manpower and security costs)—less than a third of the expenditure during Bennett’s tenure.”
