Defense Minister Israel Katz held a comprehensive security meeting on Judea and Samaria with top security officials. The meeting reviewed the security situation in the region and outlined the actions needed to thwart terror.
1+At the meeting’s conclusion, Katz ordered Israeli forces to significantly expand offensive operations against Arab ‘Palestinian’ terror groups attempting to regroup. The defense minister instructed officials to prepare to seize another refugee camp, following the model used in the Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nur al-Shams terror camps. Those camps were evacuated of residents, cleared of terror infrastructure, and are now permanently occupied by Israeli forces to prevent the rebuilding of what Katz called “nests of murderers.”
This aggressive approach, which Katz launched with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s backing upon taking office, has proven effective on the ground. According to the data, the hardline policy led to a dramatic 80% drop in terror activity in 2025 and continues to show results in 2026. Israeli forces will continue to operate with a heavy hand and proactively to ensure the security of Israeli citizens and settlers in Judea and Samaria.
1+The meeting also addressed the decision by the military appeals committee in Judea and Samaria to accept an appeal against an administrative restraining order issued against settler Tal Yinon Dardik. The order, issued by the commander of the Central Command on the recommendation of the Shin Bet, Israel’s internal security agency, was canceled due to serious flaws in how it was issued. Following this decision, Katz ordered that the draconian administrative order not be renewed, and that the issue be handled through alternative means.
