Gilad Katz, former Israeli consul general in Houston, said Sunday in an interview with Tal Meir that the meeting will cover all major security and strategic issues, along with a presentation of Israel’s red lines.
1+Katz said Netanyahu and Trump are expected to discuss “the entire range of problems facing the Middle East, facing Israel, facing the United States,” emphasizing that cooperation between the two countries will be at the center.
As for the issues Israel is expected to raise with the American administration, Katz added that from Jerusalem’s perspective, “everything is on the table. We’re saying what we demand, where our red lines are, what our position is toward Iran, what we want in Lebanon regarding Hezbollah, where we stand with Hamas.”
1+Katz also addressed the trust between Trump and Netanyahu, saying “Israel is an asset, perhaps the most important asset for the United States in the Middle East.” According to him, Trump sees Netanyahu as a key partner in dealing with challenges in the region.
