The main concern is the possible impact on operations at Ben Gurion Airport, especially after recent months already saw temporary closures of Israeli airspace and flight cancellations by foreign airlines.

Today alone, more than 95,000 passengers are expected to pass through the airport, with thousands of Israelis taking off for summer vacations and others returning home. Any change in airport operations or the flight schedule could affect tens of thousands of passengers within hours.
Following the developments, Transportation Minister and Cabinet member Brig. Gen. (res.) Miri Regev held another situation assessment today with all relevant parties. At its conclusion, it was decided that at this stage there is no change in Ben Gurion operations or the flight schedule, and the airport continues to operate normally.
The Transportation Ministry emphasized that the security situation is being continuously monitored, and that if there is a need to make changes to Ben Gurion operations or instructions for passengers, the public will be updated in an orderly and immediate manner through the authorized parties.
