During Channel 14’s five o’clock program, Dr. Gadi Taub criticized Knesset member Gadi Eisenkot, calling him “the disguised candidate.” Taub argued that Eisenkot, despite his statements about the need for victory, embodies the security doctrine that failed dramatically in the October 7th events. According to him, “this is the essence of Gadi Eisenkot—that’s why he’s there.”
Taub claimed Eisenkot serves as the perfect candidate for the left, which doesn’t want to abandon the old doctrine. “It’s not a bug, its a feature —it’s the essence of Gadi Eisenkot, that’s why he’s there. He’s there to push Israel back to the Oslo framework, to the so called ‘two-state solution.” He noted that Eisenkot, in his role as deputy chief of staff, “pushed plans to downsize the IDF” and reaped their fruits as chief of staff.
Dr. Taub added that Eisenkot is “a balloon losing air” and “not the sharpest pencil in the box.” He criticized Eisenkot’s lack of understanding of Israeli discourse. As an example, Taub cited a 2025 clip in which Eisenkot said 150,000 or more Gazans should be brought to work in Israel—a statement that according to Taub is “as if he learned nothing from the Oct. 7 massacre.”
