Two Arab minors from Jerusalem’s Old City were arrested on suspicion of attacking a Jewish man in a racially motivated assault near Damascus Gate. The incident occurred two nights ago and was allegedly filmed to be shared on social media.
According to the police investigation, aided by observers from “Mabat Yerushalayim” (Jerusalem Watch), one of the suspects approached the man without any prior provocation and spit on him. The second Arab allegedly filmed the attack using his mobile phone.
Officers from the Shalem station in the Jerusalem district moved quickly to locate those involved and arrested both suspects shortly after the incident. During a search, police seized one suspect’s phone, which contained a video documenting the attack.
