Israel’s Ministerial Committee for Shin Bet Affairs approved Thursday, on the recommendation of the security establishment and professional officials, to maintain security protection for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the rest of his life due to an updated threat assessment, according to our political correspondent Moti Kastel.
According to security officials, beyond the constant and ongoing threats directed at the prime minister, the risk level has risen significantly following the elimination of senior “Axis of Evil” leaders, including Iranian tyrant Ali Khamenei, Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, Mohammad Deif, and Yahya Sinwar, along with other senior officials.
The committee also determined that following the elimination of Mojtaba Khamenei’s family members, including his wife and son, the risk to the prime minister’s family members has also increased, due to Iran’s motivation and desire for revenge.
Under the decision, security for the prime minister’s wife, Sara Netanyahu, will be enhanced for the duration of the prime minister’s lifetime. In addition, Netanyahu’s children will receive security protection for the next five years.
