The US military announced a short time ago (Wednesday) that forces had begun a wave of attacks against Iran. At the same time as the US military’s announcement was published, reports came from within Iran of explosions heard in the city of Shiraz. At present, details of the damage and the scope of the US attack have not yet been released.

During the wave of attacks carried out last night, which lasted about seven hours, American fighter jets and vessels hit dozens of military targets near the Strait of Hormuz and along the coast of Iran, including missile and drone sites, naval capabilities and coastal defense systems. According to the US Central Command, the move was intended to reduce Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping and civilian crews.
Trump also indicated in an interview with “Fox News” that the United States may attack power plants and bridges across Iran: “The situation for them is going to be really bad. We will shut down all the power plants and destroy all the bridges, unless they come to the negotiating table,” and hinted: “Sometimes you need a ground operation, but we have others who will do it for us.”
