According to police, they received a report of an attempted infiltration by a ‘Palestinian’ terrorist into the settlement of Neve Daniel in Gush Etzion. He was caught by the settlement’s security coordinator and a military force, and claimed to them that he was thirsty and looking for water. When suspicion arose, he was arrested and taken to the station for further interrogation.

During his interrogation, he admitted he intended to attack an IDF soldier who crossed his path, with the intention of ending his life and dying as a “martyr.” In addition, as part of the investigation, he led forces along the route where he planned to carry out the attack and reenacted his steps.

He also led officers to the location where he hid a knife to carry out the attack. In a search of the area, under a metal bench, a kitchen knife several centimeters long was found, which he had taken from his home kitchen.

This is not an isolated incident—just days earlier, another terrorist tried to carry out a deadly attack in the Jerusalem area while armed with a knife. Forces on the scene opened fire at the suspect’s lower body, neutralizing him and leading to his immediate arrest, with no casualties among our forces.
