Israeli forces struck southern Gaza yesterday (Sunday) and killed Mustafa Oweisi, a merchant who attempted to smuggle military equipment into the Gaza Strip. During the war, Awizi smuggled weapons into Gaza, and recently continued attempts to smuggle additional military equipment aimed at rebuilding Hamas’s military wing—violating the ceasefire agreement.
The military equipment he tried to smuggle was intended for Hamas’s naval and aerial operations. The IDF said in a statement: “IDF forces under Southern Command are deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to act to remove any immediate threat.”
In a separate operation, Israeli forces killed two Hamas operatives in airstrikes who posed an immediate threat to troops in northern Gaza. Among those killed: Hassan Mustafa Zahir al-Razina, who attempted to plant explosives near the Yellow Line, and Mohammad Mahmoud Abd al-Mu’ti Fayyoumi, a Nukhba operative who advanced terror plots against Israeli forces.
