According to the office’s statement, the death certificate has not yet been completed and will only be signed after toxicology and microscopic test results are received. Law enforcement officials said the process could take several weeks.
Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal published new details about the moments leading up to his death. According to emergency dispatch recordings, around 8:30 p.m. Saturday evening, fire and medical teams were called to a home on South Capitol Street in Washington following a report of a man suffering chest pains.

Shortly afterward, an unidentified woman called 911. She said she was making her way from Baltimore to the house and that the front door was supposed to be open. But when crews arrived, they found it locked and got no response, despite knocking repeatedly.
A few minutes later, the teams announced they would break down the door and requested police assistance. More than 15 minutes after that, radio traffic reported that CPR was being performed on a person who had suffered cardiac arrest, without mentioning his name.
