As the standoff between Iran and the U.S. heats up, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards appear to be changing course. The terror organization that attacked ships in Hormuz during the ceasefire has realized that the U.S. president isn’t afraid to hit back hard. Now, a Revolutionary Guards source who spoke with Channel 14 News describes a significant strategic shift by the terror organization.
According to sources Channel 14’s Senior Iran Analyst Dror Balazada spoke with, the Revolutionary Guards are leaning toward halting activity against the U.S. on the political front. An understanding is developing among members of the terror organization that Trump has made clear only the use of force can resolve the confrontation, especially around the Strait of Hormuz.
The organization wants to change strategy and appeal to American public opinion, particularly ahead of the midterm elections. The Revolutionary Guards plan to do this first and foremost through oil prices—which they say will hit the pocket of every average American.
According to sources, in addition to the pressure the Revolutionary Guards will apply against Gulf states, they’ll likely launch a media campaign against Trump. This comes on top of the many calls against him heard during the funeral procession for Ali Khamenei—which is taking place these days across Iran and Iraq.
