In light of the escalation with Iran and various publications on the Internet, the Airports Authority recently issued a clarification to the public today (Thursday).
The authority’s statement reads: “Following the rumor mill and incorrect publications, we would like to clarify that there is no change in the guidelines. All airports in Israel are operating as usual and passenger traffic is constantly increasing. In fact, we are in peak activity days. Should there be a change in the guidelines, the Airports Authority will immediately update the traveling public and all official media channels accordingly.”
The statement is being published after the Airports Authority updated that July is expected to be one of the busiest in recent years, with a forecast of approximately 2.3 million passengers during the month, an increase of approximately 25% compared to the same period last year. In the coming days, more than 80,000 passengers are expected to pass through Ben Gurion Airport daily, with peak traffic expected to reach approximately 94,000 passengers in one day.
