In an operational activity in the southern Gaza Strip, IDF forces killed terrorist Muhammad Imad al-Rahman Abu Ta’ima last night (Tuesday). The terrorist, who served as head of the Nuhba cell in Hamas’ military wing, was a key figure in the massacre on October 7, when he raided Kibbutz Nirim and took an active part in the terrorist acts against civilians.
The elimination was carried out in a targeted airstrike after intelligence was received that he was an immediate threat to Israeli forces operating in the area. This is a significant achievement in the Southern Command’s ongoing effort to thwart the terrorist organization’s command echelon and eliminate threats to the lives of fighters.
Throughout the months of fighting, Abu Ta’ima did not cease his hostile activity. He ‘commanded’ the Nukhaba squad in complex ambushes carried out against IDF forces, while constantly attempting to harm Israeli fighters in the field. In addition to operational activity on the battlefield, the terrorist promoted additional terrorist plots intended to escalate the fighting.
In recent times, Abu Ta’ima has focused on maintaining the competence of the organization’s terrorists under his ‘command’, alongside intensive attempts to recruit new terrorists into the ranks of Hamas. The IDF clarifies that the Southern Command forces continue to act with determination and in accordance with agreements to remove any immediate threat in the region and to erode the terrorist organization’s military infrastructure.
