Indictments will be filed Thursday morning against three suspects—Alaa Din Jhaim and Waam Matsarwa, citizens from Tayibe, and Mohammad Aftima, a resident of Baqa al-Gharbiyye—on suspicion of aiding the terrorist in the Tzur Yitzhak attack.

About a month ago, Omar Mondar Yassin, an Israeli citizen from Tayibe, carried out a deadly shooting attack across multiple locations—Kochav Yair, Tzur Yitzhak, and Sal’it. The attack killed Haim Klumiti, a member of the Tzur Natan emergency response team, and wounded several other civilians. Security forces killed the terrorist after a brief chase.
Investigations of Alaa-Din and Waam revealed they were aware of the terrorist’s intentions to carry out an attack and did not prevent it. Additional details emerged about the terrorist’s activities in the days leading up to the attack. Aftima’s interrogation revealed he supplied the Carlo submachine gun the terrorist used.

The security incident began at the first location at 10:34 a.m., when a vehicle carrying armed men opened fire at people present and immediately fled. Magen David Adom paramedics and EMTs who rushed to the scene provided initial medical treatment to two men around 30 years old, both with penetrating wounds to their bodies.
While police tried to identify the escape route, the terror spree continued to the next locations. “At 10:37 a.m., MDA’s 101 dispatch center in the Yarkon region received a report of a man wounded at the entrance to Tzur Yitzhak. MDA paramedics and EMTs are providing medical treatment and evacuating to Beilinson Hospital a 31-year-old man in moderate condition with a penetrating wound. Later at Kochav Yair, also at the entrance to Tzur Yitzhak, there was a report of shooting at a guard who was wounded in his hand. The guard was lightly wounded and evacuated to Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba.”

Shortly afterward, an MDA team located two additional victims in critical condition on the road leading from Tzur Yitzhak to Tzur Natan. “From the initial report only, MDA paramedics and EMTs are providing medical treatment at the scene to 2 wounded, including: 1 unconscious.”
MDA later pronounced dead a man around 35 years old with gunshot wounds and provided medical treatment and evacuated to Meir and Beilinson hospitals 5 wounded, including: 2 in serious condition and 3 in moderate condition, with penetrating wounds to their bodies.
