Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi announced today (Wednesday) the conclusion of a round of negotiations held in Doha, Qatar. He said the sides “discussed in Doha the violation of America’s commitments under the memorandum of understanding regarding the end of the war in Lebanon.”
The Iranian delegation noted that the commitments included in the memorandum of understanding are one package and should not be treated separately. It was decided to establish an immediate communication channel for the monitoring group tomorrow to report violations related to the memorandum of understanding.
Earlier today, indirect talks between the United States and Iran began in Doha amid dramatic reports about President Donald Trump’s intention to resume fighting. The president held discussions with top U.S. security officials about extensive strikes. The central disputes: freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and restrictions on Tehran’s nuclear program.
