After the IDF and Shin Bet announced they had killed Talal Jaber Mohammed Abd al-Aal—a senior Islamic Jihad terrorist who ‘commanded’ a terror cell during the October 7 massacre and was involved in holding hostages—hostage survivor Rom Braslavski posted a personal response.
In his opening words, Braslavski thanked the IDF, the Shin Bet, Israel’s security forces, and the soldiers, writing: “You avenged me. Only now can I say with 100% certainty—I won.”
He went on to reveal that the terrorist who was killed was the man who held him captive and abused him for months. “This is Talal Abd al-Aal. Or as I knew him—Abu Youssef,” he wrote. According to Braslavski, this was the man who “jumped on my neck when I was malnourished,” forced him to open his mouth while his hands and feet were tied, and “spit into it.”
Braslavski added that the terrorist was the ‘commander’ of the terror cell that held him for a year, and that he was the one who gave the order “to tie up Abu Salem (me) and abuse him.” He wrote that the terrorist personally participated in the abuse and that “they almost killed me several times.” He closed with a direct message to the dead terrorist: “Remember when you told me to pass a message to the Shin Bet? That you gave them the middle finger to their drone and that you’re not afraid of them? The message was delivered. Enjoy hell, you son of a ***.”
As reported, the IDF announced earlier that Talal Jaber Mohammed Abd al-Aal was killed in a joint IDF and Shin Bet operation in southern Gaza. According to the military’s statement, the terrorist ‘commanded’ a terror cell that infiltrated Israeli territory during the October 7 massacre, was involved in holding hostages in the southern Strip, and held a series of additional roles in the Islamic Jihad terror organization.
