Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the remarks against IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir at a Bnei Brak rally, while Shas said the comments do not reflect the views of its spiritual leadership or the party's values.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:
“I strongly condemn the disgraceful remarks made against the Chief of Staff last night in Bnei Brak. Even when we have disagreements among ourselves, there is absolutely no place for severe incitement against the IDF and its commanders, who protect us all.”

Shas statement:”The extreme remarks made last night against the Chief of Staff during the rally in honor of Torah held in Bnei Brak do not reflect the views of our Council of Torah Sages and are contrary to the path of the Shas movement, as taught by our revered leader, Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, and as expressed in the speech delivered by Sephardic Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef during the rally.”
