Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke today (Thursday) at the graduation ceremony of the combat officers’ course, and referred to the ongoing campaign in southern Lebanon and the nuclear threat of the Iranian terrorist regime. Netanyahu made it clear that our forces will remain in the security zone in southern Lebanon “as long as necessary,” and that the State of Israel will not allow Iran to possess nuclear weapons.
He also addressed the campaign in Lebanon and set a firm line regarding the continuation of the fighting: “Even if the United States asks us to, we will not withdraw. We will remain in the security zone in southern Lebanon, and we will maintain the controlled territories as long as necessary.” At the same time, during his speech, boos were heard from a person in the audience – which were quickly stopped by applause from those present.
The Prime Minister also clarified regarding the nuclear threat in Iran: “If we had not acted, they would have atomic bombs today. We will not allow Iran to develop nuclear bombs.” According to him, we learned more from the horrors of October 7 than anything else, and that throughout the entire campaign, “we turned the tables – and our persecutors became the persecuted,” and that “Israel’s fighting spirit is stronger than ever.”
