Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem delivered a surprising admission from Lebanon yesterday (Tuesday), speaking ahead of Ashura Day and making unusually candid remarks acknowledging the IDF’s military superiority. During his speech, Qassem chose to lower expectations and openly admitted that the terror organization lacks the capability to defeat the State of Israel in a direct conventional confrontation.
1+“If I want to compare the power of the resistance to the power of Israel, and say that through the power of the resistance I want to defeat Israel—then I am not speaking correctly,” Qassem said in his speech. He added with unmistakable clarity: “It is impossible that through the power of the resistance we can break Israel’s power, army against army.” In effect, the organization’s leader admitted that breaking Israel militarily is an unrealistic goal.
IDF Response: “First Time You’ve Said Something True”
The response came quickly from IDF Arabic spokesman Avichay Adraee, who seized the opportunity to jab at the organization’s secretary-general on social media. “Naim Qassem, it seems this may be the first time you’re saying something true—contrary to your habit,” Adraee wrote on his X account, adding emphatically: “Yes, Israel does not break.”
draee went on to attack the organization’s leadership, reminding them of past warnings and the price paid for their predecessors’ mistakes. “We warned you again and again, and made clear to you that the State of Israel—through its steadfast will, its combat doctrine, the cohesion of its people, and its tremendous military power—is a rock on which all your delusions shatter,” he wrote. He even invoked former Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, noting: “If only you had learned from your predecessor, who publicly admitted his regret when he said ‘if I had known.'”
“You Threw Yourselves Into the Abyss on Iran’s Orders”
According to the IDF Arabic spokesman, this time Hezbollah has no right to claim surprise. “Today you don’t have the privilege of saying ‘if we had known,’ because you knew. You knew very well what military, intelligence, and technological power you were facing, and yet, on external orders from Iran, you threw yourselves into this abyss.”
1+Adraee concluded by declaring that the organization’s famous “spider web” theory has completely collapsed against reality on the ground: “The delusions you sold for years have evaporated above your heads, and the bitter reality is now imposing itself on the ground. The result is clear to all who see: Israel is strong, stable, and continues to dismantle your delusions.”
