Yoav Bumerind from Zichron Yaakov, David Rabinowitz from Haifa, and Elad Naidik from Toronto are the Israelis who were killed in the small plane crash that occurred yesterday (Sunday) in Washington. Bumerind and Rabinowitz will be brought to Israel for burial, while Naidik will be buried in Toronto, Canada. The crash happened while the plane was en route from New Jersey to Montgomery County, Maryland.
1+The plane crashed less than 32.2 kilometers east of Washington, and only in the early morning hours today was it located with the pilot and two passengers dead inside. The incident came to light when local dispatchers received an automatic crash alert from the iPhone of one of the victims.
The alert triggered a massive response from law enforcement, fire, and rescue teams, who launched extensive searches in the area. The search continued for hours until 3:45 a.m., when the plane’s wreckage was found in a wooded area behind a residential complex and playground on Scarlet Oak Terrace.

According to official sources, the debris field from the plane wreckage stretched across approximately 100 feet.
