President Donald Trump continued to escalate his rhetoric toward Iran on Sunday, issuing a new direct threat over Hezbollah’s activities in Lebanon. In a post on his Truth Social account, he wrote that Tehran must immediately halt its proxies’ activities in the region or face another American attack.
“Iran must immediately stop their highly paid PROXIES in Lebanon from causing trouble. If they don’t, we’ll hit Iran very hard again, just like we did last week, only harder!!! President DONALD J. TRUMP”
The new threats come as the round of talks between the United States and Iran continues in Switzerland, with disputes over the nuclear program, sanctions and the activities of Iranian proxies in the region continuing to cloud the possibility of reaching an agreement.
