The Shin Bet and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) revealed they have foiled dozens of terror attacks over the past year directed by Hamas operatives in Turkey—and are now exposing the key operatives in the terror infrastructure.
Hamas’s Judea and Samaria apparatus, as previously disclosed, is responsible for advancing and directing attacks against Israeli civilians and security forces throughout the region.
Over the years, and with increased intensity over the past year, Judea and Samaria apparatus operatives have been directing and advancing extensive military activity into Israel from Turkish soil, including recruiting operatives to carry out attacks, transferring weapons and funds into the territory to advance military activity.
Zaher Jabarin currently serves as head of the Judea and Samaria apparatus, and Ayman Abu Khalil serves as head of the military wing of the Judea and Samaria apparatus.
Over the past year, several investigations have been conducted in which Hamas operatives residing in Turkey and operating under the Judea and Samaria apparatus to advance military activity were implicated:
– Ayman Sharawna, a Hamas operative in the Judea and Samaria apparatus, recruited operatives and advanced terror activity in the region, operates from Turkish territory
– Muhammad Malah, a Hamas operative in the Judea and Samaria apparatus, originally from the Tulkarm area, divides his time between Turkey and Qatar, assisted in transferring funds for terror, operates from Turkish territory
– Majed Ja’ba, a Hamas operative in the Judea and Samaria apparatus, assisted in smuggling the weapons used in the November 2023 attack at the Tunnels Checkpoint, operates from Turkish territory
– Walid Abu Nasar, a Hamas operative in the Judea and Samaria apparatus, financed a terror infrastructure in Bethlehem, operates from Turkish territory
– Salam Yaish, a Hamas operative in the Judea and Samaria apparatus, recruited terror operatives to carry out attacks, operates from Turkish territory
It can now be revealed that over the past year, dozens of attacks directed by operatives of the Hamas terror organization’s Judea and Samaria apparatus operating from Turkey were thwarted. Additionally, Hamas operatives conduct their activities unhindered from Turkish territory, holding meetings with operatives from the Judea and Samaria, exploiting infrastructure in the country to transfer instructions and funds—those same instructions and funds are used by operatives on the ground to advance military activity and carry out attacks.
The Shin Bet and the IDF view with great severity any connection to terror elements and direction from Hamas’s Judea and Samaria apparatus and involvement in transferring funds and weapons intended for terror infrastructures in the Judea and Samaria region, and will continue to act decisively to thwart threats and ensure the security of Israel’s citizens and the State of Israel.
