Vance – he has actually handed the world’s largest Shiite theocratic dictatorship a religious victory of epic proportions, one they have never witnessed in their lifetimes – a victory of epic religious scale in their eyes that reaches the very core of their faith.
Through their eyes they succeeded in forcing the Great Oppressor to back down – the nuclear superpower that had stationed its military off their shores for months – and forced it to send its ships away from their ports.
If you’re an Iranian official today, you’re experiencing a state of religious ecstasy and catharsis unlike anything you’ve ever known. Trump has given them the most glorious victory a zealot Shiite could hope for, and in doing so, he has made their bloodlust greater than ever.
In their eyes, they bent America to their will: why would there be anything else that they can’t do or achieve now? Naturally, an epic victory for one side is a cataclysmic defeat for the other – and that “other” in this story, the one on the losing side – is the man sitting in the Oval Office in Washington.
