Israeli forces struck in southern Lebanon over the weekend and killed Ali Moussa Daqduq, a senior Hezbollah ‘commander’. Daqduq served as a central figure with extensive operational experience, holding a series of key positions in the terror organization. In recent years, he directed terror operations and combat against Israeli forces and the State of Israel.
Among his roles, Daqduq served as ‘commander’ of the security detail for assassinated Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and as a commander in the Radwan Force. He also ‘commanded’ the operations department of the Nasr Unit and headed Hezbollah’s infantry force. Additionally, he ‘commanded’ the “Golan Terrorist Network,” an operational arm responsible for Hezbollah’s entrenchment in Syria and building military infrastructure near Israel’s border — a network exposed by Israeli forces in 2019.
Daqduq directed most of Hezbollah’s combat protocols against Israeli forces in recent years. In 2007, he was imprisoned by the Americans after orchestrating the kidnapping and killing of five American soldiers. The IDF says this is a significant elimination of another senior Hezbollah ‘commander’ and closes an important chapter on one of the most prolific executors of terror operations against Israeli citizens, Israeli forces, and even American soldiers. “Our forces will continue to strike Hezbollah terror organization commanders,” the military said.
