Israeli forces from the 7th Brigade Combat Team and the Egoz Unit, under the command of Division 36, completed a complex operation in recent days to gain operational control and clear the northern Saluki River area in southern Lebanon. The operation was carried out as part of the division’s effort to strengthen control of the territory and remove the threat to communities in the Galilee Panhandle and Metula.
The cleared area served Hezbollah as strategic infrastructure from which explosive drones were operated and high-trajectory fire was directed at IDF forces operating in the sector. Throughout the operation, the combat team worked in close coordination with the Air Force, enabling the destruction of hundreds of terror infrastructure sites built up in the area.
During the fighting, more than 50 terrorists were killed. In addition, forces swept the area and located extensive weapons stockpiles, including explosive charges, anti-tank missiles, and anti-tank launchers.
