On Monday morning, Israel made clear that the era when foreign journalists could smear the country, support terror, and request work visas through a “revolving door” system—is over. French journalist Alice Froussard, known as one of the most antisemitic voices in French media, was deported after attempting to enter Israel and secure a permanent work visa.
1+Froussard, who has operated in recent years from Jerusalem and Ramallah reporting for far-left French media outlets like Mediapart, hasn’t hidden her views. An in-depth review conducted by the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism exposed her true face: statements legitimizing the October 7 massacre under the whitewashed cover of “examining context,” false accusations of a “massacre” carried out by the IDF in Gaza, and a relentless delegitimization campaign portraying Israel as an “apartheid” state.
Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism Minister Amichai Chikli said: “Like Linda Sarsour and other inciters before her, Alice Froussard has also learned that we’ve changed the rules of the game: anyone who supports Hamas and the boycott movement against the State of Israel will not enter it. 1+The minister also sent a message to the French president: “As for the expected criticism from Macron and Jean-Noël Barrot, who granted Hamas recognition of a Palestinian state while our hostages rotted in captivity, and who impose sanctions on Israeli ministers and citizens: you’ve made this decision very easy.”
