Israeli forces struck southern Gaza on Saturday, eliminating Muhanad Othman Yassin Farwana, a commander of a terrorist cell in Hamas’s military wing. Farwana had orchestrated multiple terror attacks against Israeli forces and the state of Israel throughout the war and in recent weeks.
Farwana posed an immediate threat to Israeli forces operating in southern Gaza. He was killed in a precision airstrike aimed at removing the threat immediately and protecting troops on the ground. The operation underscores the military’s determination to act against terror operatives.
Israeli forces in the Southern Command are deployed across the area in accordance with the ceasefire agreement and will continue operating to remove any immediate threat to Israeli civilians and soldiers. Targeted operations against senior Hamas figures and terror cell commanders continue, aimed at damaging terror infrastructure and preventing future attacks.
