Israel is overhauling its Gaza strategy with a major expansion of the "Yellow Line" zone and blanket authorization to strike terror targets beyond it, while ramping up defenses against Hamas kidnapping attempts.

Israel is changing its operational strategy in the Gaza Strip, Channel 14 reported this evening (Wednesday). The move includes a significant expansion of the “Yellow Line” in the Strip, alongside blanket approval to strike terror figures and targets even outside the defined zone, and renewed preparations for a resumption of fighting.

Under the new strategy, Israel will work with the United States to significantly expand the “Yellow Line” zone in Gaza in the coming months. Expanding the Yellow Line marks a shift in Israeli operational policy and is apparently designed to broaden the security operating space for Israeli forces.

In addition to expanding the line, the political echelon has given a “green light” to eliminate wanted terrorists and terror cells even beyond the expanded “Yellow Line” zone. At the same time, Israel is preparing a major defensive effort aimed at preventing harm to Israeli forces, including soldier kidnappings. Hamas is trying to carry out such kidnappings to achieve a victory and change the equation with Israel, so heavy emphasis is being placed on thwarting these attempts.
