The US military struck a suspected drug-smuggling boat in the Pacific Ocean, killing one person and wounding two others, American forces confirmed.
The operation targeted a vessel believed to be transporting narcotics across Pacific waters for designated terrorist organizations. Military officials provided no additional details about the circumstances of the strike or the identities of those aboard the boat.
The Search and Rescue system was activated after the strike to attend to the survivers. The strike is part of Operation Southern Spear, launched at the command of President Donald Trump in 2025 to crack down on narco-terrorism.
