United States President Donald Trump issued a dramatic statement on his TRUTH account today (Monday), in which he issued an ultimatum to Arab countries as a condition for progress on the nuclear deal with Iran. Trump directly linked the advanced negotiations with Tehran to the expansion of the Abraham Accords, and demanded that the Gulf states join the agreements immediately.
President Trump detailed that over the weekend he spoke with a number of leaders in the Middle East, including Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed, the Emir of Qatar, Turkish President Erdogan, and Egyptian President al-Sisi. He said he made it clear to them that “after all the work that the United States has put in, it should be mandatory that at least all of these countries join the Abraham Accords at the same time.” He emphasized that Saudi Arabia and Qatar must sign immediately, stating: “If they don’t do this, they should not be part of the deal.”
Trump praised the success of the Abraham Accords for the member states, noting that they had brought “tremendous financial, economic and social success.” He presented a vision of a united and strong Middle East, adding a particularly surprising statement: “In my conversations with many leaders, I have been told that they would be very honored, once our document is signed, to also include the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Abraham Accords. Wow – that would be something special!”
At the end of his remarks, the American president officially instructed his representatives to begin the process of joining the countries to the historic agreements. He signed off with an unequivocal message, according to which if Iran signs the agreement, “it would be an honor for us to include it in this unprecedented global coalition,” which will make the Middle East a region “united, strong and economically powerful – perhaps more than any other region in the world.”
Trump, along with senior administration officials in Washington and Tehran, provided a series of dramatic statements and intelligence data last night that reveal the behind-the-scenes details of the memorandum of understanding being formed between the superpowers. Senior US administration officials clarify that agreement in principle has been reached on most parts of the outline but emphasize that they will not hesitate to renew military strikes if Iran backs down from its commitments.
At the same time, CBS published a US intelligence report on Supreme Leader Khamenei’s isolated situation, shedding light on the real reason for the prolonged diplomatic delays. The tense axis now moves between economic data that caused a sharp drop in global oil prices, and sharp threats from the Revolutionary Guards to break with international treaties and deploy naval mines.
Officials confirmed to Fox News that the framework agreement is at a very advanced stage: “We are 95 percent of the way toward an agreement, although the executives are still arguing over the exact wording detailing Tehran’s nuclear stockpile and what is happening in the Strait of Hormuz.
“We have an agreement on the nuclear stockpile and the Strait of Hormuz, but we are negotiating the exact wording on the ground. We are not going to fold, we are not there yet. We will not sign the agreement today or tomorrow. President Trump’s instinct is to give them another five, six or seven days to get the agreement across the finish line.”
The American officials note that those Iranian officials who have been given the authority and permission to work with the Trump administration are encountering enormous and extraordinary difficulties in trying to communicate within their own system of governance. The data reveals that the system was deliberately built so that even the highest-level government officials in Iran do not know where Khamenei is hiding, and have no way to establish direct contact with him.
