Undercover Border Police forces operating in Judea and Samaria arrested a wanted suspect yesterday (Tuesday) in the city of Qalqilya in the Ephraim Brigade sector, on suspicion of terror activity and membership in the Tanzim terror organization. The operation was carried out based on precise intelligence from the Shin Bet, Israel’s internal security agency, under the command of the Ephraim Brigade, and focused on a suspect who was at the time in a cafe in the city center.
Once the intelligence was received, Israeli forces prepared for the arrest operation, which combined undercover and overt units. The undercover force arrived covertly at the cafe, located the suspect and identified him. With highly precise timing, the fighters raided the location and arrested the terrorist, who was completely surprised by the swift and determined action of Israeli forces.
Immediately after the arrest, violent riots broke out at the scene as a local mob confronted security forces operating in the area. Despite the violence directed at them, there were no casualties among Israeli forces. The suspect was transferred for further interrogation by the Shin Bet, where the extent of his involvement in terror activity will be examined.
