President Donald Trump issued a stark warning to Iran, threatening the country with total destruction if it attacks American naval vessels. “Iran will be blown off the face of the earth” if it attacks U.S. ships, Trump said. The threat marks a sharp escalation in rhetoric between Washington and Tehran amid ongoing tensions in the Persian Gulf region.
“If they attack, their country will be wiped out,” he said, emphasizing that the United States now has a much larger stockpile of weapons and ammunition than before. The president added that “we can use all of these weapons, and we will, if we have to.
The president later wrote on his social media account: “Iran has taken some shots at unrelated Nations with respect to the Ship Movement, PROJECT FREEDOM, including a South Korean Cargo Ship. Perhaps it’s time for South Korea to come and join the mission!”
“That’s all they have left. Other than the South Korean ship, there has been no damage, as of yet, in transit through the strait. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine will hold a press conference tomorrow morning.”
The news comes after tense hours in the maritime arena, during which the US deployed naval forces to secure commercial ships crossing the strait. On the other hand, Iran fired warning shots and sent Revolutionary Guard boats in an attempt to hit American vessels and civilian ships, with six of them reportedly sunk. Tehran later also attempted to launch cruise missiles at American ships.
In the afternoon, there was further escalation, as Iran expanded the attacks and launched missiles towards the United Arab Emirates, along with attempts to hit additional vessels in the area.
