Two Israeli soldiers were wounded Monday morning in a clash with Hezbollah terrorists in southern Lebanon. The incident occurred during an operational mission by Golani Brigade reconnaissance forces operating under the 36th Division, who encountered a terrorist cell that opened fire on them.
The clash happened around 11:00 a.m. Two fighters were wounded by the gunfire and were evacuated by helicopter for medical treatment at a hospital. The soldiers’ families have been notified.
Israeli forces on the ground responded immediately, engaged the militants, and returned fire. Shortly after, Israeli Air Force fighter jets struck several military buildings and an anti-tank position used by Hezbollah in the area.
The IDF emphasized that forces continue operating in the combat zone to close in on the terrorists involved in the incident. Operational activity in southern Lebanon continues as part of efforts to defend Israel’s northern border.
