Israel received thousands of weapons and munitions from the United States within just 24 hours. Two ships and several cargo planes carrying thousands of air and ground munitions and military equipment—totaling around 6,500 tons—docked at the ports of Ashdod and Haifa. Defense Minister Israel Katz hinted at the purpose of the move: “Our job is to ensure the IDF gets all the necessary means—so it can return to operate at full strength against our enemies, at any time and any place required.”
The ships carried thousands of air and ground munitions, military trucks, JLTV combat vehicles, and additional military equipment. The equipment was simultaneously loaded onto hundreds of trucks from the IDF’s Transportation and Convoy Brigade in the Amon Division and the Technology and Logistics Division, then transferred to IDF bases across the country.
The logistical operation was led by the Defense Ministry’s procurement delegation in the United States, the unit responsible for international defense shipping at the Defense Ministry’s Procurement Directorate, and the IDF Planning Division. Since the start of Operation “Roaring Lion,” over 115,600 tons of military equipment have arrived in Israel via 403 flights and 10 sea shipments.
Defense Minister Israel Katz said: “The State of Israel is ready at any moment to act against its enemies—in any arena and any place required. The air and sea bridge now expanding strengthens the IDF’s readiness and operational superiority. Our job is to ensure the IDF gets all the necessary means—so it can return to operate at full strength against our enemies at any time and any place required. We will continue to strengthen capabilities and ensure Israel has all the tools to defend its citizens and defeat its enemies.”
Defense Ministry Director-General Major General (Res.) Amir Baram, who oversaw the operation, said: “At any given moment, cargo planes and ships are making their way to Israel with thousands of tons of munitions and weaponry. This is part of the Defense Ministry’s strategy to support all IDF needs, both in massive procurement in the immediate term and in improving readiness for an intense security decade. The impressive procurement and shipping operation we completed will continue and intensify in the coming weeks.”
