The IDF announced Thursday it’s opening hiking trails in southern Israel this weekend that have been closed as military zones.
Southern Command will open Route 10 for hikers in the Paran Brigade sector, between Ezuz and Mount Harif. The route will be accessible Friday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Hikers can enter by showing ID and registering on-site, no advance coordination required.
The military stressed that forces will continue training in firing zones across southern and northern Israel throughout the weekend. All other firing zones will remain completely closed to hikers. The IDF is calling on the public to act responsibly, stay out of restricted areas, and allow security forces to carry out their missions.
